Gender Justice

Gender Justice implies the protection and promotion of the dignity of women and men who, being created in the image of God, are co-responsible stewards of creation.Gender justice is expressed through equality and balanced power relations between women and men and the elimination of the institutional, cultural and interpersonal systems of privilege and oppression that sustain discrimination.

Social Justice

Supporting and promote inclusive processes, peaceful coexistence and tolerance in communities participating in projects resulting in: change in perceptions, attitudes and behaviours of community members; cohesion and reduction in incidences of conflict amongst groups in LDS operational areas; and, peaceable communities tolerating divergent views and practices.

Health and Wellbeing

Support efforts that promote sanitation and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) targeting  women and adolescent girls. Facilitate training of women and adolescent girls on issues relating to sanitation and SRHR. Promote psycho social wellbeing of adolescent boys & girls in schools. Promote establishment of girl friendly spaces and  toilets in schools.

Disaster and Emergency Response

Facilitate development of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) plans at community and district level. Train staff in Core  Humanitarian Standards. Providing food and non-food items in disaster & emergencies situations. Evacuation of affected communities in disaster / emergency situations. Training in community based  psychosocial support to affected community groups.
